Le Groupe Intervention Vidéo (GIV) is an artist-run centre with the mandate of distributing, disseminating and producing independent videos made by women. It supports the practice of media arts in its different forms and currents, both artistic and activist.

GIV’s collection includes more than 1,200 titles, in English, French and other languages, by more than three hundred artists. It reflects a plurality of approaches and treatments, proposing the points of view of women of all generations and cultures on subjects such as feminism, sexuality and human rights.

GIV encourages a redefinition of the relationship between public and creator. In addition to its regular dissemination activities, it has established innovative projects over the years in collaboration with artists, curators, festivals, artist-run centres and educational and community organizations. It offers technical support to artists, co-production programs and training workshops.
