L’Écart is an artist-run centre in Abitibi-Témiscamingue devoted to all visual arts disciplines. It supports experienced professional artists in their practice of contemporary art.

L’Écart is a residency for artists dedicated to research and creation. A social economy enterprise, it offers artists access to production spaces, specialized equipment, accommodation and a documentation centre. It also promotes networking and shares resources with various cultural institutions.

L’Écart produces major national and international events and various publications. It supports the professionalization of emerging artists and facilitates exchange between artists both from the region and the national scene.
