Located in Longueuil, Zocalo is the sole artist-run centre in Montérégie devoted to printmaking. Its mandate is to support the research, creation, production and dissemination of print media. Zocalo embraces contemporary art, combining traditional and digital techniques to preserve and develop printmaking practices.
At all times, Zocalo’s members may benefit from its production space and its array of specialized traditional and digital equipment. To stimulate research and creation, the centre also offers emerging and established artist residencies and development workshops, as well as technical support. Zocalo has both a gallery space and virtual platform, offering specialized presentation opportunities adapted to the needs of artists engaged in contemporary printmaking.
