Centre Bang upholds the central role of art and the artist in society by supporting visual and digital art practices by artists from here and abroad. Its production and presentation spaces welcome exhibitions, artist residencies and public events.
Artistic projects supported by Bang offer a critical perspective on the challenges of our era. The creation of new knowledge, innovation and knowledge-sharing among members of cultural and artistic communities constitute its main areas of interest.
Bang’s artistic direction is committed to developing creative languages, enhancing critical discourse and promoting innovative practices.
Without ignoring that the corollary of certain digital arts practices is dematerialization, Bang gives precedence to proposals rooted in the materiality of the work. The centre’s activities support the work of emerging artists from the Sagueney region, Quebec, Canada and abroad.
