The SNAP Gallery’s mission is to support printmaking and related activities. In its efforts to do so, the Society’s goals are:
- To increase the local community’s understanding and appreciation of printmaking and print-related media.
- To provide a forum for local artists to gain exposure to print techniques and print-related issues.
- To facilitate the exchange and exhibition of work from local, regional, national and international artists.

SNAP is committed to recognizing the status of professional artists by paying artist fees as established by CARFAC.

Mandate
SNAP is committed to promoting, facilitating and communicating printmaking as an art form. The main goals of the society are:
- To provide support for artists active in the print medium and to encourage those unfamiliar with the medium to engage in critical dialogue with printmaking techniques and artists.
- To provide an exhibition venue that stimulates the exchange of ideas and technical information by addressing issues that surround printmaking art and practice as it relates to contemporary culture through exhibitions, lectures and publications.
- To promote cultural dialogue by facilitating the exchange and exhibition of works by regional, national and international artists, as well as by offering a program of artist residencies to Canadian and foreign practicing artists.
- To offer diverse educational programming to professional artists and the general public with regard to printmaking techniques, innovation and relevant contemporary issues.
- To nurture an active community outreach and support program by working collaboratively with a variety of cultural institutions and organizations in our community, our region and beyond.
