Artexte is a non-profit organization that collects a wide range of documents on contemporary visual art, with an emphasis on the documentation of works by artists active in Quebec and Canada since 1965. Artexte is committed to the understanding and advancement of the visual arts through reliable information sources.

Collection
Artexte has a collection of more than 23,000 documents and publications relating to all aspects of the visual arts, and which reflect an interest in critical approaches to the production, exhibition, research and interpretation of contemporary art.

e-artexte
e-artexte.ca is the on-line catalogue for Artexte’s collection and an open-access platform for contemporary Canadian art publishers, authors and artists to upload digital versions of their publications for anyone to download for free.

Exhibitions and Public Programs
Exhibitions and projects are presented on a variety of subjects related to the collection. Screenings, lectures, workshops and other activities are offered in conjunction with the exhibitions.
