Founded in the conviction that living transcultural artistic experiences contribute to the betterment of humanity, OBORO is an artist-run centre that encourages the development of art practices locally, nationally and internationally. OBORO’s field of action covers visual and media arts, new technologies, new performing arts and emerging practices.

OBORO’s more specific mandate is to support creativity emerging from diverse cultural practices, encouraging innovation, experimentation, the exchange of ideas and the sharing of knowledge. OBORO’s objective is to provoke reflection in the art world and in society at large, and to contribute to a culture of peace.
